Pictures 		Uninsured Drivermvaarule An insurance study found the five states with the highest uninsured driver estimates were Colorado at 34 percent, Mississippi at 29 percent, Alabama at 28 percent, New Mexico at 27 percent and California at 26 percent.
What this means is one out of 3.68 drivers in California is driving without insurance which causes all of our rates to be higher. It also means that insurance companies will have to pay out on more claims that it normally would not have to with an insured driver.
California has a large illegal population of immigrants from other countries on our roadways with the majority driving without a California Drivers License or proper insurance. Many accident studies show that little can be done to remedy this problem leaving the courts, insurance companies and accident victims all in the cold.
It is highly recommended that one should purchase uninsured motorist protection.
