Immediately at the time of Accident Know What to do.

Don't deal with the injury on your own. Accept the treatment from a paramedic, firemen or ambulance personal. No matter how small an injury.  Get medical treatment at the time of the accident do not wait to contact your doctor. Report the accident to authorities and  too your insurance company within 48 hours of the accident. Do not make a at fault  statement at this time. Simply give them the date, time of accident and the other driver's information.

You must report the accident to the Department of Motor Vehicles within 10 days if someone is injured or killed or if damage to either car is more than $500. Each state varies in time, make sure that you get a copy of the accident report if taken by a law enforcement office.

Contact your insurance company first and ask your adjuster if they are going to contact the other driver’s insurance company? Make a claim with your insurance company and/or the other driver's insurance company to pay for your injuries and losses. Give them the accident report case number this can take up to week to get at times. Depending on your local law enforcement office.

Contact MVAA if you need help in knowing what to do, and send us pictures of your accident. Email accidentreviewr some of o take picture if you are unable or thting license plates. @accidentadvisory.org

Seek out and get identification of any witnesses. If you are not injured write down the witnesses’ names and addresses, phone numbers, and interview them. Make sure you ask them for their help other may shrug you off.  Be sure to get the other driver’s information and drivers license number. Ask for them to show you their vehicle registration and write down the registered owner, and legal owner. Also get their insurance card information especially the policy number and claims information. I f they  tell you they do not have it, call the police or highway patrol immediately.

Personally look at them to see that the driver, insurance and registration all line up. If they do not, write down all the information, contact the police or Highway Patrol to come to the accident scene, fastest way to get them there is tell them the dispatcher you need an officer immediately as your worried the driver is going to take off.
