Selecting an attorney is no easy situation. We all have heard of the horror stories involved with hiring a qualified attorney.Specialization in personal injury is a major criteria that one must consider. Just because an attorney who handles your personal matters says that they can represent you in a personal injury case, doesn't mean that you should allow them to. If you needed brain surgery, you wouldn't let your general practitioner perform the surgery would you? It goes the same with Personal Injury Attorneys. An attorney may have been trained in law school for injury cases, but unless they are actively involved on daily bases with injury law and settlements you are taking a chance. They must have over 5 years in Personal Injury and wrongful death settlements. They must be listed in their state bar and have not had any charges pending with the Local State Bar. In addition, they must present a history in several areas such as: |
